What you do when Hollywood creates a movie from a popular teen book series, only for the movie to flop? You make a television series apparently.
“Shadowhunters: The Mortal Cup” is the latest book adaptation to hit the small screen. Whilst the book was popular with many young teens, this reviewer was not a fan. Campy, obvious storyline, blatant explanations leaving little to the imagination, poor characterisation, they are all descriptions I would use for the “Mortal Instruments” book series. The television version may just have been worse.
Let’s jump back a little, if you haven’t read the “Mortal Instruments” series, written by Cassandra Clare, don’t waste your time.
